AWTCo is a not for profit organisation run entirely by volunteers dedicated to promoting involvement in and development of the performing arts in Albury-Wodonga and surrounding regions. For over 50 years, we have been our city’s local and community-based performing arts organisation.

Musicals

For over 50 years AWTCo has been bringing high quality musicals to the Border involving hundreds of community members on and off stage.  Each year we usually perform two major shows at the Albury Entertainment Centre or the Cube in Wodonga

Plays

We are always on the lookout for Directors to bring new or well known plays to our intimate theatre space in South Albury.  We usually support up to 3 plays a year with our most recent production of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible to sold out audiences.

Performances

Out intimate theatre space is perfect for performances of small ensembles, solos, or cabaret style shows.  The space can be hired or performances proposed in collaboration with AWTCo.

The Sound of Music

May 10 to 18 2024

Inspired by the lives of the actual von Trapp family, The Sound of Music tells the uplifting story of Maria, a fun-loving governess who changes the lives of the widowed Captain von Trapp and his seven children by re-introducing them to music, culminating in the family's escape from the Nazis across the mountains from Austria. It features an unforgettable score that includes some of the most famous songs ever performed on stage, including “My Favorite Things”, “Edelweiss”, “Do-Re-Mi”, “Sixteen Going On Seventeen”, “The Lonely Goatherd”, “Climb Ev'ry Mountain” and the title song, “The Sound of Music”. The Sound of Music has won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars and now this iconic production returns to the Albury Entertainment Centre.

Disney's Newsies Jr

June 21 & 22, 2024

Our fabulous youth theatre company BYTESized Productions is super excited to bring the smash hit musical Newsies Jr to the Albury Entertainment Centre in June 2024. Based on the major Broadway production and with music by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid), Newsies won two Tony awards including best original score. Newsies Jr was the third most performed junior musical in 2023 internationally, just behind Frozen Jr and Roald Dahl’s Matilda. We can’t wait to bring this high energy, fabulous show to the big stage of the Albury Entertainment Centre June 21 & 22. Tickets on sale now!.
